Start / Stop

Start / Stop
My start stop wont kick in when the vehicle obviously stops. I've tried clicking the relevant start/stop activate/deactivate button on the dash to see if that may solve the problem, unfortunately not. Any ideas apart from the obvious?
BTW, The car has reached normal working temperature on many occasions which should have activated the system. Im maybe thinking the battery, but how can i test it?
Also, its never worked in all the two weeks i've had the car. (I had the same system on my previous Q3, so i understand its workings!)

Generally, it never shuts off on mine below 20F no matter what the state of seat warmers/defroster/fan speed/engine temp... Between 20 and 40F is still kind of dicey depending on how warmed up the car is and fan speed. I've left it on, for the most part, for the entire 75k miles whether stock, APR Stage 1 and now Stage 2 and have gotten to the point where I can (mostly...) predict whether it'll shut off at stop or not, but there are still those outliers
Regarding my choice of leaving it on (many here seem to disable Start/Stop...): it was a curiosity at first that I got used to and noticed mpg improvement on my commute so I just left it on. I use it as Eco-justification and balance for those rambunctious, dumbass, blow it the F out drives to work where I only get 12-13 mpg

Mine works down at -30c.I only use it when I'm in the city 20% time.On the diesel it's very well executed and re starts are pretty seamless. It can save from 1.5 - 2.5% fuel consumption in the city.Plus I'm probably killing fewer small children and puppy dogs with my particulate pollution.
