Default Traffic info gone missing

hi all. bought used Q5, with the 6 month Sirius trial in place, and no data/SIM card. Nav showed traffic info (by which i mean red/yellow/green lines, not traffic notifications) just fine.

6 month Sirius trial ran out. traffic info went away.

got google fi data sim card, plugged it in, seems to work (google earth works anyway; audi connect still 'can't connect.') traffic info didn't come back.

bit the bullet and signed up for the sirius welcome back deal of $5/mo x 6 mo--i need my traffic info. but it didn't come back! have checked and unchecked and rechecked the display 'traffic info' box.

is there something i'm missing? here in the seattle area having traffic info is almost as important as fuel gauge or speedo. thx for any help!

When you signed up for the Sirius $5 @ month did it also include traffic? My guess is no for that price. Traffic is usually a separate subscription but is also available in a package Sirius radio. I pay $37 for Sirius radio and traffic for 5 months at a time.

I too live in the Seattle area, but I found that Sirius traffic took far too long to update to give me any useful information. I have an app on my phone from WSDOT that covers the entire Puget Sound area (I think it actually covers most of the state), and I can force a refresh on it at any time. The problem of course is they just passed a new law that goes into effect in July that makes it illegal to even hold your phone while driving, so you need a mount to be able to see it while in motion.

If you buy it used from an Audi dealer they stop the 4 years free and institute a 6 month free trial. Bunch of BS but no way around it. When we tried to reactivate the 4 year subscription we were told it was only for the original owner. If you buy used from a private party or non-VWAG dealer it should remain in effect for the whole 4 years.

Good deal then. Part of PDI on every new or used vehicle is supposed to be the starting of a Sirius trial in the buyers name.
