UK: Sat Nav - Database Corruption
Hi all,
New to the forum so be gentle please.
I have a 2015 (UK) Q5 2.0 TDI.
I started getting get a “the navigation data are not enabled” recently and the Sat nav wouldn’t work (phone, media and radio are fine).
On taking the car to local Audi dealer I have been told that the database has been corrupted and that it will cost £4.5k to replace!
has anyone had any experience of this error? Also, does anyone know whether their price sounds right? It sounds pretty extreme to me and I would have thought I could replace the whole Sat Nav MMI thingy for less than that.
If this is covered directly elsewhere please do let me know. I’ve found similar posts but nothing relating to
a “corrupted database” or cost for replacing the whole thing.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome. That cost from your Audi dealer seems very excessive. I agree with your statement that you should be able to replace the complete system for that price. If within your area, I would suggest taking your Q5 to another Audi dealer or a reputable non-dealer repair shop to see what they come up with.

I think you have a problem with the HDD
There is one great company in the UK that can help you, I can't remember the exact name but search the internet
5-6 years ago I sent a link to one of the members and he was super happy with the service, I think they charged him around £ 300
I can send you a link to the maps version 2022 so you can try to install the new version
You need to send me the exact version of the firmware, which you have now
