Default USAA Auto Buying Program

Anyone use this program? What was your experience? Any other auto buying programs I should look at?

I used USAA Auto Circle automobile buying program in December when I purchased my Q7. Everything was taken care. I had no problems. You can chose your vehicle on line and a dealer in your area will contact you. Plus you get a discount for being a USAA member. Its amazingly easy. Unless another bank can offer you a lower APR. USAA will be my first choice.

We've used it twice. 2 years ago when we ordered our Q5, and 9/11 when ordering our A3Q.

Highly recommend this program.

Thanks for the feedback. I checked out the USAA member reviews and overall people seem happy with it. I'm leaning toward financing through them as well.

I used the USAA program when I was shopping for my Q5. I got a great price through the program, but the closest dealer in the USAA program was at Virginia Beach and we live in Jacksonville, NC. We would've gone that far for a good deal, but I thought I would approach dealers "nearby" with the USAA quote and see if they could at least match that. It was easier than I thought. The first (and closest) dealer agreed to work with that price.

Good luck in finding the best price,

What percent discount does USAA manage to give?...

I can't imagine it being close to the 6% discount the Audi Supplier Program gives...

When we ordered the USAA deal was $1500 above invoice. That saved us about $1800 off the MSRP. That's only about 3%. That's not that great, but they give us a VERY good price for our trade-in which combined with the discount comes out to about 6%.

If you are eligible to join, check out navy federal credit union. 1.79% for up to 60 months.

The USAA Auto Buying Program is not based on a percent discount but rather on a fixed fee on the invoice price. I just bought my 2012 Q5 through the USAA service and paid $1500 over invoice. For me it worked out to $1000 below MSRP. My local dealer is getting full MSRP for Q5's since they are in such high demand, so I considered the USAA price a good deal.

I used this... But then I went in and told them that USAA gives us three dealers with the same price (which is true). I had each dealer bid against the others to get a better price. I got a better price and got weather mats thrown in!!

USAA uses ZAGG. So does american express.
