2.0TFSI
Hello,
Does anyone else with the 2.0TFSI get a rattle noise, at medium acceleration, with steady moderate pressure to the gas pedal,
from 1,400 to 1,600 rpm there is a rattle noise, either coming from the engine bay or exhaust, goes away after 1,800 rpm,
cannot duplicate the sound in Park by revving the engine or in Neutral, only makes noise while in Drive,
i highly suspect it is the turbo waste

How many miles? There is a clamp on the exhaust that rusts in northern climates where salt is used and can cause a variety of noises.
Has that clamp been replaced. Mine went and I used 2 conventional exhaust clamps on the remaining sheet metal clamp until I could find an aftermarket stainless one. If you don’t catch this one in time you could lose a good part of your exhaust system. Get the car on a lift or ramps and push and pull on your exhaust or panels underneath to find something loose.

are you sure this is not the random abs system checking itself as Audis are known to do? if it is an engine rattle, no I have never had that on my Q5 18

Does it sound like air blowing through a tube with a bit of water coming out? Or like air coming out of a compressor? If that’s the noise you hear it’s probably the direct injection used on this engine. It makes a bit of a pfffffttt sound in the RPM range you mentioned.
That would also explain why you don’t hear the noise and park as this would only happen under load as the engine adds more fuel to give you more torque
