Hello,
My 2018 Audi Q5 shows EGR is not ready for Smog test despite driving for 500 miles (highway and traffic). The dealer asked me to drive more, but my registration is due soon. Can anyone please help?

Maybe your EGR is clogged. Aside from that you can try this procedure. It's for a Volkswagen but they are pretty much all the same

Have you scanned for DTCs to see if errors are currently present?
The EA888 does not use external EGR, it uses internal EGR. As such, it's implemented via valve timing. I'd expect a DTC involving the VVT system, but that would set the MIL too. There's no test for EGR directly, just tests of the VVT system.
There are many sources of drive cycles out there to try. Make sure the fuel tank is 3/4+, make sure to do some several mile stints at a very steady 45-55 and 55-65. And make sure you have no DTCs.

I also have this problem and have driven 544 miles and it always says not ready and I need the CA plates! What to do? It is Los Angeles, so there is nowhere to go to drive 60 and coast to 10 mph. What can I do? Thanks

I took it to dealer for a service and asked home to fix. He kept the car for 5 days and drove for 150 miles to get EGR ready.

Dealer here in Los Angeles will not do anything, says there is nothing they can do.

You can tell the dealer that you drive for 1000 miles and still it is not ready, and the registration is due.
