Any one know if the new Q5/SQ5s are being made in Mexico for the EU market also?
IF you go European drive, do they ship it over there for you? Or are you getting a german/hungarian made model?
Just curios...

This is almost true. Q5s sold in China are made in China. Here's the blurb from the audi.com web site:
The Audi A4 L, Audi A6 L, Audi A6 L e-tron, Audi Q3 and Audi Q5 model lines are being produced for the Chinese market at the headquarters of the oldest and largest automotive company in China, First Automotive Works (FAW). In 2016, Audi delivered 555,788 cars in chinese market. As such, China has become Audi’s largest single market worldwide.

its built to the same quality standards. I'm struggling to understand what you think the difference will be. Engineers from Germany design these cars. I'm in the design industry as well. We do not change quality standards just because of build location. If anything we become more strict when facilities are new.

FYI, not everyone working in German car factories are real Germans. A lot of them are immigrants from all over the world. But, that does not necessarily make the products they produce inferior.

Most Audi engines such as the EA888 (1.8L and 2.0L) and V6 TFSI are built in the Gyor, Hungary plant.

Yes, the German Audi Q5 and SQ5 are assembled in Mexico, the German MB GLC in Alabama, and the German BMW X3 in South Carolina. Now, the British Jaguar F Pace is made in Britain, but owned by an Indian firm and the Swedish Volvo XC 60 is made in Sweden, but owned (I believe) by a Chinese firm. So, if you want to buy a compact luxury SUV, you're kind of stuck in this respect.

All manufacturers have factories all over the world. In fact the XC60 is made in at least 2 locations Sweden and China. No telling where the components come from now that a Chinese Co owns them. Right now it seems that Manufacturers are chasing low wages and diversified locations nearer their larger markets.
