This is on a Q5 2019 and A4 2018. Same problem with newish Liftmaster. After about 1 to 2 weeks the opener stops working. Here is the very odd fix:
Once it stops working, go into car settings in your MMI, select program garage door, select the button you want to program - then exit. It may ask you “are you sure” you want to quit programming. Say yes. Do not reprogram your button. Your button will now work again. Please tell me this is not a software problem in the car. How does the button start working again, when I did not reprogram it. Unfortunately, the program only lasts 1 to 2 weeks and then you need to do this all over again. Sigh.

Since having the software in the car updated back (1316) in December I have not had this happen anymore.

Steve, thanks for response. I just checked my software and I’m also at 1316. Maybe it is something else. Maybe MMI needs rebooting?

I've had this exact problem on my 2019 A5 Sportback, though the frequency of programming loss is about every 2-3 weeks.

I'm please to convey that this work around does, in fact, fix the issue. The button didn't work on the gate when I came home. I tried this work around and, voila, the gate works again.

As others have cited, other cars work fine and handheld remotes work fine—it's clearly the car. This never happened with my old 2012 S4, with my wife’s old 2017 Q5, or her new 2018 A7.

i had my 2018 a5 for over a year and never had any homelink issues.

8 months ago i picked up a 2018 q5 and twice the homelink programming has been lost in it.
the both times it failed were in this past month, and i had to reset both cars.

im bringing my q5 in for service on tuesday for that issue as well as a radio preset issue.
if i get any good info il post it.

i just found this on the net....https://audiworldzz.blogspot.com/201...lletin_42.html

That is for a previous gen Q5. Doubt it applies to the B9 even though the description seems the same.

Default HomeLink 2020 Audi Q3

I have a 2020 Audi Q3 loaded "prestige" s line The homelink in the MMI display looses the code after about 2 weeks. This only happens for one of the doors programmed into it. It members the codes to my gate opener. All of my openers are "lift master" side mount purchased in 2017. With rolling codes. Any suggestions to fix this?
