Non-Heated Seat softer than Heated Seat?

Here is the diagram of Audi's heated seat (probably from older version but the design should be similar. Note the heating element is on the top of the cushion which makes me believe they would affect the softness somewhat):

Trust me, it doesn't. You need to go sit in both types of seat and you will be able to feel for yourself. I highly recommend the ventilated sport seat if you want the maximum support and comfort.

The regular seat on the Q7 was nice and comfy though. Wish it was the same for the Q5.

Look for vehicles at near the base price of a Premium model to narrow down quickly. Cars.com is good at this but the 2018 Q5 is still too new for this to work yet. The majority of vehicles on lots around here are pretty loaded Premium Plus's. Dealers in northern climates alway order heated seats, for spec cars.
I really don't think the heat layer makes much of a difference but you will tell us when you find one.

My guess was correct--the non-heated seat is definitely softer and more comfortable than the heated one. I picked up my special ordered Q5 yesterday and feel that my non-heated seat is softer, just right, very similar to the Q7 in softness. I tested using my hand pressing down on the seat with my body weight. I would love to have those heated seats but I love the softness even more because I have a more boney bud.
I also love the Nougat Brown color.
