Default Steering heater malfunction check owners manual

That was the fault I received in the middle of the dash. I had used OBD to increase it from 34 to 37 degrees. I got th fault twice intermittently. I then cleared the fault with obd and changed the temp to 36 degrees. Has anyone else ever gotten this fault?

Is the weather so cold already that you needed to adjust the factory setting? I wished they did flat with heat as I was not ready to go round for the heat

What I am surprised about is many people have set their steering wheel heater higher than factory and this was the first fault I have seen about it. The one click app goes much hotter. Into the 40’s so going up 3 degrees did surprise me that there was a fault. I drove with it at 36 for hour and half last night and so far no fault.

I had the fault at any temp over factory. Some of us are unlucky.

I have had the fault, cleared it, hasn't come back. When it does, I'll have it checked out.

you are right, as the massage wasn’t productive I have removed it. Good luck with the fix. My guess you circuit from factory has added resistance normal variance in manufacturing. This causes of fault code with you increasing the current to the circuit. Unless you are able to identify the cause of extra assistance and replace the component you’re probably not gonna be able to make this work. Keep in mind the more and longer you run the steering wheel heater you get higher resistance and are most likely you’ll have to get a code

^ Hmm...

I've had my heated steering wheel temperature limit set to 36 deg. C. for almost 1 year and have never had a fault message. My wife and I find 36 to be pretty perfect.
The factory-set temperature limit of 34 is (was) definitely too low - we could hardly feel any heat.
