I would start reading up on the fine print in the Roadside Assistance program, if someone offered to ship your car back to you after fixed that is not authorized to provide that service and the T&C's of Roadside Assistance offered with our Audi's doesn't state that service you make have a big up hill to climb.
I purchased a new Audi Q5 PHEV in December 2020. While driving on Interstate 5 in SoCal in March 2021, the "Drive System Malfunction" light appeared. The engine started to rattle, so I pulled off the highway. I had the car towed to Audi Bakersfield. The service manager told me my engine needed to be replaced. This all happened at the start of a two week drive across the US with my wife as we were heading back home to the East Coast from our visit to California.
Audi US agreed to replace the engine and ship the car back to my home in Massachusetts. I feel that is the least they could do for a brand new car that had less than 3,000 miles driven on it. It took Audi three weeks to replace the engine and now they are balking at paying to ship the car back to me.
So, I have a brand new car break down on me and Audi US isn't following through on their promise to fix the car and ship it back to my home. Any suggestions on how I can get Audi to deliver on their promise to me?
Did they ever explain why a new car needed a new engine?
My 2016 Audi A4 TFSI sport gave a "drive system malfunction" error message
I was driving on Friday with my A4 2016 sport and i received a warning message "drive system malfunction" and immediately the car lost power. I switched off the engine and restarted it again hoping it will reset. Ever since it only start but the accelerator doesnt respond. It doesnt have power. I do not know what to do.
Am I to understand that this issue that keeps happening is with the start stop button? Proximity does not matter anymore with my key in my pocket. I have to physically lock and unlock the car. The error does happen as soon as I get close to the car though. It also beeps and gives the error throughout my drive which is super annoying. So this has nothing to do with an immobilizer?
