Virtual Cockpit - default map?

Virtual Cockpit - default map?
New to Audi. Last week purchased 2018 Q5 Prestige CPO. Wondering if the virtual cockpit can be programmed to default the map setting versus car information. Don't like the fact that I have to click to the map when I start the car. Any help is appreciated.

Oh! I just assumed that the default was where you left! I'll have to look at mine. [EDIT: see below]

I just tested it. Set it to the map mode (filling the central part)... went for a drive and turned it all off. Returned to find that the map was still there. So, it must be able to remember what setting you were last on (or at least mine does).

My 2018 Q5 Prestige always starts up in map mode - right where I left it. My 2017 Q7 Prestige always reverts to the vehicle info page & I have to toggle it back to the map 
. Guess it’s just one of Audi’s ongoing software “updates”, probably in response to customer complaints.

Hmmm, my 2018 Q5 Prestige reverts to the vehicle info page. Talking it in on 4/3 and will talk to the service staff to see if it can be programmed to start with the map screen. Thanks for all of the feedback! Love the Q5!!

are you referring to the map in front of you where the speedo is or the map on the center screen? if the map where the speedo is, I believe mine too stays on the last setting so if I had map large view and get back into the car, it is there I think.. now I'm curious but I'm 90% sure. BTW, the map in the virtual cockpit is very cool when on large or full view... also at first I didn't like the google maps or aerial setting but now I use only that... I actually had it on both screens for a while today while navigating LOL... I like all the different ways you can set the nav/maps... it's one of the few things I love about the car

In my ‘17 A4 it always defaults to the vehicle info screen and there’s no way to make it start up with the Nav screen. In my SQ5, I leave it on the sports view mode and the left side always shows the map (which is what I leave it on).
