Default Diagnosing a sirius module

I have a 07 Q7, with the two antenna lead sirius module. Before I got the car, the sunroof drain leaked, and the bose amp and speaker voice coil was replaced. I tried activating our sirius before a road trip, and it activated, but only says "linking" when tuned to any channel. I have tried sending refresh signals multiple times.

Since I knew the headliner was dropped, my first thought was the antenna was bad. I bought a new dual lead antenna that is for a generic unit. This is it right here:

Dual Lead Car Antenna

Unfortunately, this just led to an antenna error message on the head unit.

When I was inspecting the unit further, I noticed that there was mold on the label, so obviously part of the module got wet.

Has anyone had experience with this? I tried searching, but only find a lot of people complaining about the linking error on vw websites, and they all got their module repaired under warranty. I would prefer to not have to drop $2-300 on a used module from ebay, but I think that is what I will have to do.
