Just purchased a 2011 S-line with optional 21 inch rims. Thinking about placing Pirelli Snow and Ice winter wheels on the 21 inch rims. Also considering a 20 wheel and tire package. Any thoughts or recommendations? I am leaning toward just buying a winter tire for the existing 21 inch rim.

I'm running a 18" winter wheel package (very common). Love them and would be VERY reluctant to lose any more sidewall. Rides plenty stiff over bumpy, snow and ice covered roads so would be a real tough ride with 20" or 21" wheels. I run the stock 21" wheels in the summer and they would be a real tough ride in the winter...maybe 20s if you don't get any ice and snow.

The Vredestein Wintrac Nextreme SUV looks to be a very good winter tire that can be driven all year. I wish these were available when I bought my SUV Sessanta's a few months back. They come in 295-35-21. Not sure where to buy them but check with Detailer's Domain (board sponsor) or GroupAwheels (where I bought my Vredesteins) to see if they can order them for you.
