Good purchase! I am sure many of us will be approaching that scenario soon as an Audi over 100K with no extended warranty is frightening.

Interesting too it only added 2 more yrs on payment. That mean they gave you a decent trade in?

I am definitely a diesel convert. My average MPG of 23.6 in mixed driving is certainly a plus too.
The funny thing was we started with a '11 white/black TDI with 21" wheels. She LOVED the car, but can't stand white exteriors plus this car was pretty beat up inside and had 45k on the clock(about the same as our 07 has). She explained she would want a black exterior and they brought a '12 black over tan(same as our current car) 333hp V6 in perfect shape up for a look. My wife hated the SC V6 and said our 3.6 felt quicker. She really likes the immediate torque of the TDI and the handling feel of the 21" sport package. Pretty specific requirements for sure.

Thanks for all the responses. It was a lot of money but obviously we love the Q7. I did a bit of research and the VW dealership that I bought this car through said they had completed the 35K service but couldn't produce any paperwork to back up that claim. After a few phone calls, they admitted that they are responsible for that service (duh) and it goes in on Wednesday. I'm glad I checked because the new service schedule calls for a transmission fluid change at 35K.
Let me know how you make out on the trans fluid flush. I just had the 35k service on my 2011, and asked about the ATF too. The 2011 maintenance schedule specifically says Q7 ATF should be changed at 35/75/115. The service advisor said that's only for the Q7's with the CVT's, and since mine is an 8 speed it does not qualify. Huh?

Clearly your service advisor needs to be educated. Obviously there is no CVT option on the Q. Maybe he was thinking of the Infinity JX35? . Funny story about the ATF flush. I took it in today and had words with the VW store manager. He didn't want to pick up the tab for the ATF flush or the fuel filter change. He couldn't prove that this had been done so he agreed to have his service dept take care of the service. I got a call this afternoon and was told that the tech didn't have the Audi parts required to perform the service properly. They are transporting the car to Audi to have the service done properly. Should have it back soon. No charge.

I emailed AoA last night asking about the 2011 maintenance schedule, and specifically about the ATF change. We'll see what they say, and if its covered under Audi Care (probably not, in the brochure it footnotes wiper blades as "replacement parts and labor additional"). Interesting point: on the 2010 and 2012 maintenance schedules, they don't mention anything about ATF change on a Q7; only on the 2011 schedule. Do they have different transmissions, depending on the model year?

I'm beginning to wonder myself about this mysterious ATF interval. I got a message from my service writer at VW today and he said that Audi had called him (Audi had the car by this time) and said there is no ATF service due. I wonder if there is a service bulliten that supercedes the 2011 schedule. I called the Audi service manager and he confirmed that no service is due. Just to make sure, I'm going to email him a copy of the service schedule that I'm looking at. Please post the response that AOA sends you. This could really muddy the waters if it turns out that there is an ATF due and I try to make the VW dealership pay for it after the fact.

Also, do the 2010's have the eight speed tranny? If 2011 is the first year, that could explain the aggressive MX schedule.
