Default Replacing windshield Q7, 2017

I needed to replace my windshield. We bought new one. No issue with the fitting, but we have a problem with the sensor. The attached photos can explain all.

What is the sensor on the windshield? And what would happen if we install this windshield?

New windshield has this line.

Old windshield

This would happen it we install the windshield with the senson

The sensor can automatically set the wipers speed while in raining weather. While you activate them they can run in a speed that you manually set, but when it gets rainy the wipes automatically clean untill it gets cleared then goes back to the manual mode

So the windshield that i have would affect this functionality? Does this sensor have anything to do with speed cruise?

Thanks for your reply

I think lane keeping and stuff has a sensor in that too.. speed cruise usually uses a radar in the license plate holder.

Looks like the wrong windshield, why bother trying to fit something that obviously is different?
