The TSB only says front brake pads. It doesn’t cover rear at all?

I believe the squealing in reverse is due to the front pads, not the rears......

Again, this is only on 2017 vehicles and only on ones who are getting the squeal in reverse. There are a few TSB's out on Q7's that have to do with other issues/years on the 2016-2018's.....but the TSB I posted is limited to what I am describing.

The TSB says nothing about the size of the brakes. My dealer told me the brake pads have to be >8mm for the TSB to apply...

Thank you very much! Very helpful.

Gotta give Audi credit for having near 0 dust with the Q7 brakes...MB, and BMW are sooooo far behind in this area.

If we choose to go with the new MB 450 or AMG 53 next year the near dustless brakes of the 7 will be very much missed.

Brought in for the brake fix and like others have mentioned; national back order for the new pads: Isn’t it ridiculous new brake pads are on national back order? They couldn’t even give me an approximate date that they could order them so their response was to bring it back in March when my 20k service is due...

Reviving it back again. My dealer did the TSB last June and the noise came back again. Probably not as super loud as before, but the front brakes squeak loudly every time we back out the car from the garage in the cold morning. Mentioned to the dealer the other day during a normal service appointment and they said there is nothing else they could do except maybe change out the brakes and rotors under my expense.....

This is unaccptable...what does your service ticket say they did exactly? It appears different dealers do different things...some change out all pads and rotors and others pick and choose.

The car was in for the 20k service. The dealer didn't do anything to the brakes pad or rotors. I believe the TSB calls for replacements of the pads only, not rotors...
