This NEVER happened before. I never experienced such a sharp contrast in air flow before.
Now I know it's getting out of heating season but may I ask if anyone has experienced this issue at all and in particular those who had the fuel rails and camera software update. All mind trying this out...get heat to 74 or 75 and when warm turn it down to 72 and share with me what happens. Much appreciated.
Is this a 4-zone or 3-zone system? Check the settings in MMI under A/C and see if the driver side and passenger side settings are the same (cooler/warmer - footwell, recirculation, etc.). Also make sure system is in sync mode when you lower the temperature, otherwise only driver side temp gets lowered, in which case what you described is SOP.

This is a 4-zone system. I just checked my MMI settings. The footwell is balanced with the passenger side. I always have it set to SYNC. I didn't see anything else other than the seat ventilation and heating.
Have you experienced cooler air coming out of the drivers side upper vent in contrast to the middle vents? Thanks

@GBMILTON, per @gsobol's response... The footwell temperature setting will definitely affect the outboard upper vent temp... especially when you dial the temp down... Check to make sure it's not set to cooler...

Are the footwell temperatures both at the 12 o-clock setting?

No, not at 12 o'clock... they are both turned all the way to the right which I assume is high. I will try and set them at the 12 o'clock and see if that makes a difference.
