Scam.

Camera alignment won’t be affected by new tires.

Camera alignment would be affected by worn tires.

Camara alignment does not auto adjust as your tires wear.

Dealer: “Let us take your bloody money you schmuck!”

Replaced my tires at Discount Tires at about 38K miles.
Went back to Dealer with a $199 coupon for wheel alignment they sent to me.
They did both wheel alignment and Camera alignment, as per the service printout.
Originally they quoted $399 for both.

Of course they wanted to charge me. I told them to swap the front driver to the rear and see what happens to the noise and lets take it from there. Im not paying money to diagnose a vehicle under warranty. $600 to align cameras lol. What insanity.
I agree. Use to like dealer service, not anymore. Sadly they'll rip you off, $ooner or later, there's no real respect based friendly relationship (i tried...

I took my Q7 for the fuel rail recall and of course, the service adviser called me and said that my alignment is off. He said it was $400 for the wheel alignment plus the camera calibration. So I questioned him for about 5 minutes and asked him why the camera needs calibration. The camera is a fixed component and never moves. Also, my Q7 has air suspension so the car is always at different height because I normally change it based on my mood. He didn't have an answer for me. All he says is "per Audi". That is such a lame answer. I told him that the camera should be under the basic warranty. Anyway, I told him that I would do the alignment for $300 and he agreed. I just want to see what they will do. Needless to say, they only performed the wheel alignment as there was no fingerprint on the windshield to show me that they even touch the camera. Or the camera didn't even need calibration. Yeah I won't talk to them about wheel alignment anymore as someone said, it is a scam.

When I came to pick up the car, I question the service adviser about the spare tire because they "checked" it off as acceptable. WOW. The Q7 has no spare tire. Needless to say, this service adviser is a dud. Also I think the technician is christmas tree their checklist. I'm going to give the dealer a bad feedback because they don't act like a luxury dealer.

Took my wifes 2018 7,200 mile q7 we just bought to the dealer to schedule it's first maintenance. Dealer asked if I wanted them to check alignment. Sure, please check alignment on a car with 7,200 miles.... While I in there I heard them tell two customers they needed alignments and to balance/rotate tires. What a crock. I of course declined.

I thought if you need tire manufactures warranty you should have receipts for alignment done every 7500 miles. Or at least that is what I read somewhere. I need to go and look

For warranty purpose, tire manufactures may require proof of rotation every x000 miles rather than alignment as the cost of those alignments in some cases can be close to or exceed the cost of a new set of tires.
