If it's not powered, then that's kinda lame. I use the rear sun shade all the time in my RS5. Helps with keeping the car cooler during the day, and when the sun is really low at the end of the day it tends to shine in straight from the back and reflecting off of all the shiny surfaces and the rear view mirror, but I lower it at night of course. Sometimes I keep it up during dusk when the rear view mirror doesn't darken enough to keep those SUV lights from blinding me. I've also configured it to lower automatically when the car is put in reverse and then it goes back up once driving forward again, it's tied to the tilting passenger side mirror.

I always thought tailgate sunshade could help deflect some headlights, but not really, also since the rear is so long, it's almost impossible to get sun from there even without a shade.
It doesn't hide the cargo area either, so I am not sure what's the purpose of the rear sunshade. I lowered it and I think it will stay that way for now.
Rarely. I use the retractable cover a lot though. If there is direct sun beating down on rear windshield, I would sometimes deploy it.

I’ve always kept mine down. It’s not a perfect deterrent but it does mask somewhat the rear. Had no issues driving at night and as stated above, remedies idiots that trail with their brights on.

Are there any other SUVs that have powered back window shades? I agree about the rear passenger shades, though; those should be powered on a luxury SUV in 2018

I recall using the powered sunshades in A8L during the German Euro Delivery trip from the airport, thinking how nice they would be in my car - only to find that ours weren't powered when I took delivery. There isn't even an option... a strange omission indeed.

Do any SUVs have a powered rear sunshade? I've been in several cars with them, but not an SUV.
