Have mudflaps and nope, they do nothing to prevent the road schmutz accumulation on the back. Downright fugly on the glacier white body.

Have my car in now and talked with the service adviser about that exact same thing. Told me it's the design.
In for service under warranty:

1.) Engine makes a rhythmic pop-pop noise.
2.) Camera not working at times.
3.) Infotainment on/off switch not working at times.
4.) Heated steering wheel cuts off after a few minutes.
5.) ACC: “predictive control currently unavailable.”

Got a new 2019 A4 S-line as a loaner and the steering wheel remained heated the entire 75 minute ride home from the dealer.

6.) Engine Oil Indicator shows full, sometimes not full.

Make sure they wash the Q from the back too before they release it back to you.

I’ve noticed this phenomenon with all my cars. I think the Q is worse because of the tall, upright tail. Glad this is about the car and not personal hygiene ;-0

I was going to be a bit more colorful, but decided against it

Same problem with my Q7. Was not an issue with my 2014 Q7.

Wife's 2019 Kia Sorento rear end doesn't come out clean either.

i never take the car to a car wash because I don’t like the resulting swirls. I have it hand washed at the local detailer every weekend. So no problem in the machines not being able to get to a section of the car.
