Heated Steering Wheel
Hi all. Recent owner of 2017 Q7. When I turn on the heated steering wheel it barely heats up. Is this normal? How hot (warm) does it become. Also, only stays warm for a few minutes and then cuts off.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

PS. How do I populate my account with all the info about my car like I see other member's info appearing at the bottom of their post?
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Usually symptoms like that indicate shorts in heating element circuitry. How did you identified that is stays on only for a short period of time? Just by touch feeling or there was a message saying it is off popping up on your console?
As far as account info updates... I'd suggest starting with adding your location which often helps answer a person's question.
Otherwise... I believe it is under User Control Panel, Settings and Options, Edit Signature...

My Infiniti had a heated steering wheel and got so hot I had to turn it off.
Thanks for your reply.

Same here. However, I have a subjective opinion that Q7 steering wheel heating intensity is dependent on ambient air temperatures. I have no solid proof of such dependency, but it touch-feels that way. Most VAG vehicles have side mirrors equipped with heaters which are limited to work only if ambient air temps stay below 69 F. Thus it is entirely possible that steering wheel heater operation is also controlled by temp sensor.

I feel like this is the case also, I cannot find any writing in the manual regarding this but my steering wheel gets hot then becomes lukewarm as the cabin temp rises..
