I've had better success with using the kick motion (key with you) and then taking a small step back. The dealer specifically explained to step back as the sensors will not let the trunk open if you are too close. Hope that helps!

Remember the ignition must be off as well. There is a list of "situations" Audi lists in the manual as well. Dirty sensor, rain, etc.

It doesn't work well in the dark and beeps at you if you're too close.

Just make sure you step back after the kick!

Please post what was fixed when they're done. A copy of the repair order would be great.

Mine hasn't worked for quite some time. My dealer worked on it for a while and didn't find the problem. But since I've done some coding, they wouldn't spend any more time on it without charging me.

thanks in advance
i found a real sure way to do this

First the motion is not "kick open" its slide ur feet in parallel to the ground.

to elaborate ur letting ur feet off the ground 3 to 4 inches of the ground and keep that same 3 to 5 inches and slide ur feet in under the trunk and back in.

to me this seemed to work every time!!! good luck

they did nothing. they said it works. the service manager came out and made it work. I tried it a couple of times and it worked. as soon as I left the lot and tried it again it stopped working. they said its 'a quirk of the first year with the feature'. yeah, like the graphic/camera glitch on the 360 degree camera. right
