Default Options for tow hitch adapter

Would anyone suggest a good option for tow hitch adapter that doesn't hang low like the one Curt makes?

Or this...

https://stealthhitches.com/

I just had one installed on my '22 Q7 - haven't used it yet, but I like the design.

I believe that is the same model I linked, or maybe not, either way, it's nice...

Thanks @aces-n-eights @bg_2007Q7 !

This one still hangs low, but you can at least remove it - already better.

Does anyone have an idea what it takes to install OEM one (eg what you need to buy, van it be done not at the dealer, cost)?

Oh, you're right! I just saw the etrailer site in your post and thought it might be a different hitch.

I had mine installed by a local trailer hitch shop. I elected to get the style with hitches that are used for accessories like a bike rack as well as one for towing a trailer. The hitch system was $967 and the installation was about $400. I contacted my local Audi dealer and he recommended this local shop - the dealers cost to install would have been quite a bit more.

All I know is the factory tow hitch is pretty expensive and then you have to factor in labor. You can look up the price from audi.com

Check this link: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q7-...stion-2977743/

While not Audi hitch, conceptually the installation between genuine audi hitch and this would be very similar.

Also this one. https://www.etrailer.com/tv-install-...-q7-76076.aspx

Buy it once and forget about it. I had OEM on my Touareg TDI and my Q7. Went OEM on my Cayenne (actually a Q7 hitch, but it's the same part number.)

Only time I had to go aftermarket was for my C5 allroad - the "Justin hitch."

I've never regretted going OEM. I figure Audi did a good job of designing and building the hitch (or outsourcing it to a manufacturing partner.). Yea, Curt has lots of experience building lots of hitches, but Audi knows Audi.

You may only need it for a bike rack; the next guy might want to pull a horse trailer and would really prefer to find OEM underneath.

I do basically agree here. Thankfully my Q came with the tow package, so I didn't have to worry about it. Plus, it does look a lot better than the aftermarket options out there.
