Q7 rear seat rattle
2017 Prestige, 17K miles. I have noticed an irritating rattle that comes from the two side rear seats when the backs are up and which can be duplicated when a strong tap is given to the side of the upper part of the erect seat. It is most pronounced on rougher roads but will still occur on a freeway. It does not occur when the seats backs are lowered.I will bring it to the attention of service when we next have a service, but I am just wondering if others have had this issue and whether it can be alleviated. It is a bit of a nuisance.
Thanks

Seat belt hitting the outer seat trim. Try buckling the seat belts and then drive the car. If the sound goes away, then it is the same issue that everyone is having.

Thanks, but that is not it. I can easily reproduce the sound by firmly tapping the side of the seat with my fist, which sets up a low pitch ratatatata vibration sound which dissipates over two-three seconds.
