Default Question for anyone who ordered a Q7

Hello everyone
We went to our audi dealer around the first of the month and selected everything for our order. The salesman said he would change one of the existing cars he has coming in. Once he had the confirmation from audi we would need to place a deposit. I sent him a note today asking for an update and he still had no information. Is this how you guys did your order? Its been almost three weeks so i would think there would be an update. How did the timing work for you guys?
Thanks

If they really have your order in, they would give you a commission number if you ask for it.

Thats what i thought. The salesman says they haven't heard back from audi so im inclined to call bull**** but then why would they not want to sell a car. Im wondering if i need to go see another dealer.

They shouldn't need to "hear back from Audi". They can do everything from their online order system. Sounds like they don't really have an allocation available for you and they are stringing you along.

Cut bait and find another dealer asap. This might be an early indicator of how future dealings will go with them - do you want to put up with that kind of hassle?

I talked to another dealer today and he sent me a copy of the order form before changes with a com number jy5992. Before i had called the dealer that has been so allusive he sent me a com number jy0480. Im not sure if i should stick with the first guy or not and i dont know by the com numbers which build week. The original dealer did say he would discount 3 percent while the second wants msrp.I have no deposit yet so i have a few days to decide. Any thoughts?

Did you tell dealer #2 your issue with dealer #1? If so, #2 probably knows you're over a barrel and is going to take advantage of your anxiousness. Personally, I would have remained silent about #1 and gone in looking to order. That's water under the bridge now though. I might just thank him and walk, to see what he does since he might see loss of a customer. It's a gamble at this point.

I would definitely get the discounted price in writing at the time of deposit.
