Rode in Q7 at 55degrees up/down ramps and at a 42deg sideways tilt!
Went to a winter Ice driving trip for 2 days at Seefeld, Austria (Audi Germany and US Audi Club, group of 30 Americans, great fun!) and before the ice driving days we spent a day at the Audi test track being driven around by one instructor in an R8 (hot laps, or Taxi rides) and got some drives in a Q7 on their "rough terrain course".
The Q7 ride was far scarier than the insane R8 rides. The guy drove up and down a 55 degree ramp which did not faze the Q7 at all, riding down without the driver touchin gas or brakes in the "hill decent" mode. What was really scary is when he drove the Q7 up on the side of an "A" shaped wall so the car was tilted sideways. The tilt indicator in the car indicated 42 or 43 degrees! Sitting in the car I was convinced the car is going to tip over for sure. (Yes I took Physics - 8.01, and understand center of gravity etc, however with 4 adults the center of gravity is not so low and a tilt greater than 40 degrees is incredibly scary). I did ask and was told the tires were not RFT as the tires on the low side were resting on a small part of the sidewall only.
What an amazing car! Everybody that got a ride was incredibly impressed, especially those living in northern NE.
