Tailgate length/height
Hi,
We have a Q7 on the way and I am having trouble finding the dimensions of the car with the tailgate open. Our garage is small, and while I know the q7 will fit, I am concerned about the dimensions with the trunk open.
I understand that the maximum height can be adjusted, but can someone let me know the total height of the car with the tailgate open at the highest position? I am also curious to know the total length at the longest point. I am assuming that this is where the tailgate is parallel to the ground.
Thanks in advance.

I did a little measuring for you... This is on a 2017 Q7 Prestige with adaptive suspension.
Vertically, with the tailgate all the way up, its highest point is 16 inches higher than the highest point on the roof, which happens to be the top of the shark fin antenna. I didn't measure absolute height since that would depend on suspension setting, tire inflation, etc. As you mentioned, you can program the tailgate to stop at a point lower than this.
Horizontally, with the tailgate at the point in its arc that makes it extend the furthest back, it extends 12.5 inches aft of the furthest aft point of the bumper. One note: the button to close the tailgate is on its right end. So if you have to exit left and you are right against the garage wall, you may have a hard time getting out of the way. (Although you can close it with the switch in the door or with the key fob.)
