Is your opinion that stage 1 was worth it but stage 2 not? Or some other variation of this?
Just asking as I am considering an APR tune, but rasslin' over stage 1 or stage 2.

pretty much although the upgrade from stage 1 to stage 2 is pretty cheap. Might get a tiny bit more low end with stage 2 but I probably would just stick with stage 1 if I did it again.

For both ECU and TCU.

I did search and didn’t find much info, let’s get it off Facebook and have it archived in a help and easy to find manner!

thanks,
Aaron
I went with APR stage 2 dual pulley upgrade - 93 octane. So far, I would say 99% great things about it. My only issue would be the transmission’s lack of tuning… sometimes the transmission can be a little off. But, in manual mode, the tune is perfect. Amazing acceleration in the lower and higher bands and the supercharger has a much better pronounced sound to it.

Been eyeballing an APR stage 1 for awhile now, but I’m hesitant since it’s a ‘22 with only 10k and a family car. I was planning on waiting for the warranty to expire, but who knows.

Obviously everyone has a different comfort zone they are willing to spend and or risk voiding the warranty of an expensive vehicle. I bought my 2018 with 17k on it about 3 weeks ago. The factory warranty is up, but, I purchased an after market bumper to bumper warranty that covers the car an additional 6 years or 60k in miles. Therefore, despite my car being out of the factory warranty, I want to make sure that I am not risking having to pay out of pocket for repairs. So, the key here is… so far, the mods I have made either can be reversed (the garage I had the APR tune done told me they will re-tune the car back to factory settings if I need to take it in for a repair related to the powertrain and will retune it for a nominal fee) or won’t interfere with the warranty (Roc Euro inlet is suppose to arrive today and doesn’t impact the warranty). So, I completely understand your concerns

my warranty is out the window and I might take some extra cash from selling bruins playoff tickets and get the car tuned with APR stage 1. stay tuned, pun intended. haha.

Pretty sure the dealer "knows" if it's been tuned and reversed. I know I went with the tune thinking I'd be flagged for the duration I owned the vehicle. Having said that, my Audi service advisor was one who enthusiastically encouraged me to go APR.

For mhoran89- Let's Go Rangers!

APR is offering 10% off all tunes until 6.18. Treating mine to the stage 1 93 next week

Haven't pulled the trigger yet, but a sale is appealing. I am planning on a larger crank pulley 187mm with Stage 2 (likely APR). Ratio would be around 3.00 and am curious if the tune is good for multiple SC ratios - anyone know? Will likely couple with the Roc-Euro w/BMC filter. TCU tune will be a must as well.
