Just checking if anyone has pulled off the metal trip pieces along the exterior of the side windows, and door windows??

Any helpful hints would be great!

Yes, it can be done but you need to be VERY, VERY careful as the clips are no longer available and the trim is very easily bent. Personally, I wouldn't recommend removing it unless you have replacement clips. Chances are that you will break at least a few of the clips. Also, the NLA corner pieces are probably old and brittle as well.

The rear side window trim presses into the window gaskets, and the lower piece has a clip with a screw stud at the front. You need to unscrew the nut inside the car to get this off without damaging the clip. The access is through a little hole on the B pillar, and may be behind the inside B pillar trim. If you don't remove that first, chances are that you will break the clip and/or bend the trim. Same with the front and rear of the lower door window trim, but those black plastic nuts are easily removed and visible on the back side of the door.

Carefully pry the trim off of the clips. I use a combination of a plastic "wedge" and clip tool when I do it.
