New hood cable install
It was cheap, and easy.
Around 13 bucks from the dealer, and 1/2 hour to install.
I was sick of popping off the headlight surrounds everytime I had to open the hood.

I had a similar problem but was able to remedy the latch by greasing up the two hood springs and ajusting their location so that they were pushing on that blocking.
I need to replace my rear boot cable. I have to use a key to open it.
