Here's a photo of today's photo shoot. I snapped some from the tech session which I'll upload later. There is plenty of video and pictures as professional videographers and photographers were on hand.
My weekend has ended early as on the spirited return drive from the photoshoot, my car blew out its center differential puking oil, casing and some gears out on the highway. Marc Swanson was tuning the engine while driving back and while on a short WOT throttle run at the top of 4th gear going about 80-85mph it just blew up. There is a hole in the bottom of the center diff casing about the size of a grapefruit. Luckily I was early in the procession so Nathan Englebert pulled in behind me and Eric Fluhr and my wife went to fetch my truck and trailer. So the three of us (Marc Swanson, Nathen and myself stood in a gorgeous scenic canyon in colorado in a slight drizzle drinking Nathan's homebrew for about 90 minutes until my truck got there. This was a pretty remote road. It was grand fun.
Even with all that excitement, we towed the car back to Glenwood Springs in time for the Banquet.
tonights banquet and speech was outstanding! In the speech was alot of rare photographs taken by Karl with great commentary. Even with my car going bellyup early, I was glad I came. My car was voted best rally car. LOL so for my prize I picked up a 1:43 scale NSU Ro80.
So anyways, Tomorrow everyone is going out at 7AM to the track outside of Aspen. But with my car on the fritz, Change of plans though, I'm going to head back to Texas early tomorrow

James nice photo,, you must be pushing some HP thru your diff. Dean has some nice rides in his stables and his white sport is one of my favorites also. Though he also has one of the Audi S4 race cars that he has piloted at some of our Audi track days, and it is very fast.

Deans a nice guy, I met andy bennet too
in my opinion the diff failure is most likely a combination of four factors. I had it unlocked at the time. I don't know the history and use of the did and it could be old. It did look pretty good based on the gears we saw. The power of the car. The engine is running better than it ever has and there's still slot of room left there to tap. And lastly the car's drivetrain is very stiff and rigid so all the engines torque can create impact and shock loading on the drivetrain.
Marc was working on dialing in more power when it handgrenaded. He took some goodcphotos of the gaping wound

At least it didn't blow on the way to the photoshoot
It looks great in the picture.
If I knew how to photoshop, I'd erase the yellow one - yellow wiper arms?! How did it push itself into the middle? Or am I missing something 'important' about it...
Thanks a lot for taking the time to show us. Jonesing for more!
