My daily is a little civic 4d hatchback (awd of course). It jumps and bounces around like its the lightest thing. It seriously feels like its the lightest car ive ever driven.

So i decided to look up the weight, thinking it would be less than a ton. But to my suprise, the thing weighs 2400 lbs. Thats only 400 less than my Ur, and 200 less than the CGT i used to have.

Now, the reason this suprised me is that my Ur feels like im hauling a ton of bricks. I dont know if its just the suspension... or does 400lbs really make that much of a difference?

Right now ive got some street/autocross suspension, and theyre really really tight. Would that make it feel like it does? Because it doesnt bounce, it jsut feels heavy and ungiving?

If i can, i would like to make it feel lighter. I dont really race it, the suspension came on it when i bought it, and it would be nice to have a smoother ride.

Any suggestions?

You know, I notice the same thing between my 86 4kq and my 85 urq. The 4kq is much more tossable on the back roads than is my urq. The weight difference is only 14 lbs or so, the 4kq being lighter.

Balance between the 4000 and the UrQ, would be my guess...

...My guess is more weight is concentrated over the rear wheels than the 4000q. I mean after the rear pillars on a 4kq it's just sheet metal. The Urq has as much weight on the rear wheels only the geometery is different. Here's another thing I just thought of `chef, your Urq sits alot lower than your 4kq, I would think that would make some difference as well.
