Default New Kart track in Centennial!

New kart track in Centennial ( near the airport). Went there today with a couple buddys, a great new, smooth road course. Good little karts which we got up to about 55 mph ( gps) today. They are open Tue-Sun 10am-7pm.

Lets get a group together and do some racing!

that makes it pretty easy to cost justify spending 1K on a used cart, huh?

Default Yep!

But we actually got a bit longer than that. A bit expensive, but loads of fun.... Pretty typical of other tracks.

Default One grand will get you a used frame (only) if you are lucky. The karts used

on that kind of track are typically 125 cc race karts in either TAG or shifter classes. The TAG's are clutchless affairs with about 30 hp and over 100 mph top speed; the shifters are often Honda's with 40-50 hp and they are even faster.

A 'decent' kart, chassis, motor, wheels, tires, seat, stand and misc is usually at least 5K to start in TAG, and more for most shifters.

Default sure a shifter kart will be more, but you can pick up an 85 cc kart to play with

for around 1K. deals like this one I found on CL.

sure it wont be as fast as a shifter, but it will still be loads of fun and is a great platform for learning to drive a kart.

besides, even with shifter karts listing on CL and in the classifieds at around 2500, I doubt they actually sell for that. people get boared and let them go for cheap.<ul><li><a href="http://denver.craigslist.org/mcy/144929546.html">http://denver.craigslist.org/mcy/144929546.html</a</li></ul>
