Default Timing Belt Service

I have a 2005 Audi 1.8T Quattro that is getting very close to 75,000 miles. I need to get both the timing belt and the regular service done on it. I have been quoted $1800 from various shops. Does that sound right? Has anyone had any success at other places for cheaper?

Yep - location will cause the prices to vary but US$1800 seems high. Most aftermarket shops will do it for ~US1200 that I am aware of. Including a new WP, Tensioner, belt, and thermostat.
