About to buy an RS6, Common problems around certain milages?
#13
I wanted to restart this thread and ask which car will be better to buy and have lower overall maintenance:
2003 RS6 with all known issues resolved and ready to go @140K miles
2007 V10 S6 nearing 80K miles
I know of the RS6 pitfalls, how about the '07 S6? Do all the nasty FSI carbon issues exist on the V10 version?

You mentioned "fidelity" is that a warranty inspection for the cars? Are they good? Cost and coverage? Any other options?
Whatever you do, make sure you get an extended warranty if it is not CPO. I believe fidility has been good to many. Mine is at 48,000 miles and I have a close to $18,000 (paid mostly by audi of course!!) done over the course of the last two years. 1) DRC failure 2)Torgue converter (expensive fix) 3)Brakes and rotors 4)set of tires twice (PS'2 run about 1600 a set)
And not to mention to speeding tickets because of my spirtied driving. Absolutely a fun car to drive, one of my favorites, but make sure that you have extra in your piggy bank when the time comes.
