Should I bring the RS to Road America this weekend?
I'm trying to decide between the RS and the M3. The track tires and new brakes are not ready for the M3, so I think it'd be fun to take out the green car if the weather is cool enough. My question is: will the stock brakes survive if I run one hot lap (9.5) then two easy laps (8.5), repeat?

Half worn OEM pads on OEM rotors. Old fluid?????
Can't remember if I had it flushed. If I did, it would be factory fluid either two months old or a year old.
I love the fact that I don't pay attention to this car instead of modifying the snot out of it as is typical for me.

Re: Get RBF600 and RS14's
Hi Joe,
OEM brakes can be managed to survive on tracks with fast, long sections.
You have time to flush fluid with Motul and put in ceramic based RS14, or 15's, pads.
Wish we could join all of you, but we pick up Chris' new 3.2 TT Coupe in Ingolstadt on 9/10. Maybe we'll make it next year.
Regards,
Jimmy S.

Well as I seem to end up running bone stock you should be OK, I limit my runs to 20 minute sessions
and take really long cool down drives...at 25 minutes is where brake pedal goes all the way to the floor, you will boil the stock fluid and experience fade but it comes back after a 40 minute rest. You will toast the remainder of the stock pads. Much better performance (no fade just toast the stock pads) if you have time to go somewhere and throw in the Motul high temp stuff...makes a world of difference.

If someone can recommend a local (to RA) shop I may have pads sent there. It would also give me an excuse to install the wonder disks ....

DaveyKid is right Joe...long straights between turns. RA was the first...
track I ran mine at and the OEM brake set-up held up fine. I would put in fresh fluid though. FWIW!
If you put the after market rotors on with Pagid race pads be sure to bed them in properly BEFORE using them on the track for best results.
