Any Milltek owners move from resonated to non-res?
I've had my resonated CBs for a year now and looking for a change. I'm assuming that this is a pretty "easy" modification. Are you satisfied with the enhanced note, noise, hp boost ;-0, etc? Thanks.

Haha....I just installed my non-res Milltek last night and I'm thinking just the opposite. It's
still too early to say for sure but I don't like the drone below 2200 rpm. I must say it's surprisingly quiet cruising until you step into it so maybe I'll get used to the off idle stuff.
I picked up the non-res system on e-bay and a set of resonated pipes from a fellow AWer so I'm going to swap to the res in a couple weeks and make my choice then. I'll report back.
BTW, I did the install myself using the lift at work. I've backyard wrenched a fair bit but had never done exhaust work. I found it pretty easy. Lining it up took some time and cursing but not a big deal. Wouldn't do it without a lift though!

Re: Installed my resonated version a couple of week ago and am very happy...
that I went resonated. I hate droning so I didn't want to take the chance. Also I was more interested in gains than sound but must say that I am very happy with the sound. It is definitely louder but not too loud. Just what I wanted.

You know, install day + 2 today and I'm liking the non-res better. I think you automatically
adjust your driving style to put the exhaust note in the sweet spot. I'm giving it a couple weeks to be sure.
Started it up in an underground last night from cold. Had an "out to the theatre" crowd around me. Yikes it's loud at the 1250rpm warm up idle, and not in a good way.

What I mean is
I'm all for making a good 'ol racket in say a Mustang, Corvette, Viper, etc. but this car is all about refined luxury performance. A loud 4-door sedan just doesn't fit my idea of what the RS4 is all about.

I hear you. I also would prefer less of the "look at me" impact the louder systems have. May not
be the intent behind some systems but it's the result none the less. I'm just trying to get an accurate read on the sound inside and outside before making a call.
I've got the resonated centre piece too so I may as well try that and see how that sounds once I'm through my evaluation of the non-res.
