looks good
looks more nimble then the B7(the entire body).
seems like they're going with a 3 series tailight treatment(?), and single oval exhaust would look better, IMO.
also, the headlights are small, but with the lower hood overhang, they managed to get the grill under control...looks much better.
drop the silly curved LED's in the headlights though. if that's going to be another Audi exclusive styling touch, it needs to go, pronto.

I think the lower rocker extension is a little too simple. The front finally works. Your comment
about the LEDs curved I sort of like it...the new RS6 with just the horizontal line looks too boring to me.
I like the side lower detail better when it is on the doors like the previous S4s (B6)

lower side rocker?
everybody's going to that subtle curved look, sweeping up to the rear. right on down to the lowliest economy car. i could take it or leave it, but i think we're all going to have to get used to it for awhile.
the curved LED's just don't work for me. even in a straight line. looks like pure gadgetry(to me). i guess it's a matter of preference though.

that's a good call!
yes, i can see that now.
i don't like when cars are designed by 'committee'. with too many hands in on the styling cues, you wind up with an awkward look, kind of a hodge podge of other car's specific styling.
Honda and Toyota, completely devoid of any styling originality whatsoever, are like this and have been for years.
i'm not saying i see this in the new B8 per se, but there is some: BMW(tailights) and Jaguar(rear end), as you pointed out.
Audis used to be quite distinctive and easily recognizable in their styling. they've gone off the rails on this, with the exception being the A8, but change is the name of the game in the car industry these days. so, it's hard to blame them.

the piece they added below the doors and the curve up...the LEDs are pushing gimicks I agree,
The application that made somewhat of functional sense was on the S6 where they are low enough to pretend to be foglights.
