I have an RS4. My brother just ordered a TTRS, but there was none to test drive, so it's a blind purchase. He's found some sound data on various cars, but is worried that the TTRS is way up there. I don't know if the magazine had a sport exhaust or not. I believe some members here have a TTRS too, Let me know what you think of the interior noise compared to the RS4. (He did not get the sport exhaust) and was coming from an EVOX GSR (LOUD vacuum cleaner engine note at speed) :

Took a test drive in one this weekend here in VA. They have a used TTRS with 7K and found the cabin noise okay and right now I drive an RS4 so recommend going for it.

I have a 2012 TTRS (2200 miles) with sport exhaust.With widows up noise level is normal i believe for a performance car like the RS.With windows down the level increases slightly. All this changes when going thru the gears with or without sport mode on.

OP here. My brother ended up buying it and loves it. Ended up being a lot quieter than the built up expectations from the tests. I'm actually visiting him today and will give it a try. He didn't buy the sport exhaust, so his experience and the DB numbers in those tests don't jibe. (He's near the NOVASSC Cars and Coffee place, my hotel is 5 mins away. If I happen to stay to Saturday, I'd love to stop by with a DG RS4 and DG TTRS)
