clear bra recommendations
Hi all,
I am taking delivery of my RS4 next month and would like to install a clear bra. The dealership where I'm taking delivery sells & installs Armor Shield polyurethane film. Now, I've always heard of people installing the bra from 3M, but not from Armor Shield -- is 3M's the better product?
Also, the price for front & rear bumper + headlights is $899 -- is that about right? I'm in north jersey if that helps.
The fact that I can have the bra on right as I pick it up is very convenient obviously, rather than having to drive the car ("naked" ) to a different place afterwards. What do you guys recommend?
Also, I've noticed some cars parked on the streets with what looks like a rubber mat hanging out of the trunk, covering up the rear bumper. Do any of you use that to prevent nicks/scratches while parked on streets? How much do they go for? Where can one buy them?
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: shouldn't the front part of the hood be included in the price as well (usually)?

pre cut kits that cover 20" of the hood, fenders, headlights, etc should run about $750...
for about an extra $900, i got the entire hood, both fenders, headlights, bumper, etc wrapped (no visible lines anywhere). if you're in norcal, definitely check out premiermobilegroup

Re: clear bra recommendations
i paid the same amount that you were quoted for a full on custom (handcut) wrap for my entire hood, entire left and right fender, side spoilers, nose, a-pillar, and rear bumper using venture tape (a competitor to 3m)
i used to live in manhattan and have had a postive experience with http://technik1.com/index2.php. they use 3m and do custom cutting.
back in nyc, where people had an complete and utter disrepect for cars, people did use those rubber mats as bumper guards. though, i do not know where they got them.

My recommendation is that you don't do it
The ones I've seen (and bought) look like crap. For that kind of money just get a respray after a few years.
