Thanks Viken.

Have you raced yourself (B7 vs. B8) yet?

No, I don't have a clone of myself to help...
Having said that, the B8 S4 DSG always feels quicker during hard acceleration. But, when it comes to overall feel and elasticity, the B7 RS4 wins hands down.

will you buy it when you see it? I wonder how many people actually will. I bet not many even if it's a 100% cure. So many people bitch about carbon but they don't rush out to get carbon cleaned...they just argue with the dealer and lambaste Audi on the internet (most carbon aware people, anyway). Not speaking about you...just seems like everytime I hear someone freaking out about carbon cleaning, when I ask them if they got a cleaning, the answer is no. If someone's really taht angry, make it part of maintenance and clean that pig up!

If you take the forum guys who do/pay for carbon cleaning annually, I bet not even 1/4 of them will grab the JHM part. I guess we'll see.

for me i would want to see proof that the spacers do what they claim and i would also want to know how warranty would be impacted.

my guess is that Audi would not want to honor warranty on engine if a problem should arise. if so, i would rather just deal with carbon cleaning until warranty is done.

Well, for one thing, I don't even know what it is. How can I tell you if I would buy it or not?

this has nothing to do with the intake spacers, just for the record.

conceptually...if there was a solution that was offered, would you be a likely buyer, or would you just ignore the carbon buildup like most owners do?

Good question. I have 30k miles on my car and have yet to see or feel any signs of CB. This is not to say that there isn't any and that the loss of performance might have been so gradual that I don't feel it. My car starts with the first try, idles smoother than 99% of all the cars I've owned and appears to be running as strong as ever. Based on this experience, I guess I am one of those who has ignored the CB issues. I am tempted to continue doing so until some signs (CE light, rough idle, etc.) start to appear. Having said that, if this solution you are talking of proves to be effective and does not cost an arm and a leg, I am willing to consider it. So, show me the product and proof of performance and I'll tell you how I feel about it.
