fuel consumption
could it really be that the 2008 S4 engine is thirstier than the 2008 RS4 engine? more power - better milage. is it the FSI technology?
as per audi's website the stats are as follows:
S4: City-13 mpg / Highway-20 mpg / Combined-15 mpg
RS4: City-14 mpg / Highway-20 mpg / Combined-17 mpg
*AR driver, dreaming of RS4-avant. when will the wagon make a comeback in the united states? guess, we'll have to wait until the SUV has finally left the stage for good...

http://homepage.mac.com/schnicks/PhotoAlbum1.html</a

Why not
12.5:1 CR +FSI + variable valve timing + MT is pretty darn efficient. If the RS4 has a higher final gear (happily it has a 4.11) with lower weight, it would get amazing mileage. But then it would lose its soul and become an S4.

The S5 when I went to look at it had the same EPA mileage as the RS
It has a FSI V8 but not as much HP

Seems JET does not care
