Default H & R lowering springs question...

I know the best way to lower/improve the RS4's suspension is to go with something like the Stasis setup, but what if you only want to lower the car slightly for a nicer stance. I've heard that if you only change over the springs on a suspension, that over time, it will wear out the shocks faster. I'm asking this because I'm thinking of getting the springs only.

<a href="http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?searchstring=es7806&searchqt= byvehicle&make=Audi&model=B7+RS4&submo del=&engine=2.7T&utm_source=audiworld& utm_medium=forum&utm_content=B7RS4&utm_

Default the drop with those is pretty minimal...

I put the Eibach pro-kit springs (which were/are an official Audi accessory in the catalog) on my old A6, which dropped it about 2" all around...stock non-sport shocks. Drove it that way for about 40k miles...no problem. These H&R springs for the RS4 are dropping the car less than an inch.

If I was going to do it, I think I'd try to get some more info on the Sport Plus suspension available on the Euro RS4. Does that suspension simply have different springs, or does it use different dampers? No one has ever really looked into this. If it just has different springs, then I think it's safe to say the H&R springs could be used without worry.

Default Do it and report back please!

This would be my only real mod and the drop is subtle.

I used H&Rs on my X5 4.6is and they were great. But I am scared to death of screwing up this car as it already handles very well...I just wish it was just a bit lower.

Default Re: the drop with those is pretty minimal...

I did this on mine and the drop was right around an inch. I have had them on for about 2000 miles, not enough time to create any problems. It is enough time to know that there is no adverse effects on the handling at all. The look is perfect though as I am not one of the people that likes to have my wheels tucked like a ricer. I did post some pictures about a month ago, do a search.
