Relax! I had no idea RS4 oil consumption was causing such a furor over in this forum.

I know my B6S4 is no FSI V8, but I thought you might be interested to know that my car ate oil at a rate of a quart about every 1000 miles for the first 5000, and gradually dropped off as I got to 10k. Anyone got 10k miles on their RS4 yet? Yeah, didn't think so.

I'm at just over 20k now and it doesn't need so much as a sip between oil changes (I get them at 5k intervals). Perhaps the RS4's engine is a little more hungry than the less tuned S4, but I suspect consumption will also taper off as the engine gets broken in and this will become a non-issue over the long-run.

I contacted AoA today and will post an official response if I get one. I believe that in the end we will find it just to be the nature of this style engine and not a manufacturing defect.

oil at 10,000 BTW, always warm up until 'kickdown', and drive a high number of highway miles.
