Well, me and another RS4 owner here in Australia have been tossing around the idea of a full milltek system etc, 20hp blah blah you know the story...

So before ordering i rang an Audi service manager who is known to our track club,and is a straight talker, to chat about warranty with this system, cat back ok, anything in front of that ..no warranty...in fact a client in melbourne had put in a full system and it had caused his engine to overheat and melted some of the B7rs4 pistons!!!! how much will that cost him i asked........Aus $44,000 he replied jesus fing christ, dont **** with the integrety of the car he said unless Audi do it.
Have i changed yer mind now he asked, sniffing in misery i replied yes.

But guess where im going next month? he said...im off to inglestadt for an Audi briefing on new Products/upgrades..........HUGE DRUM ROLL....including the rs4!!!!.

He will be supplying me with all details soon, but he told me the following....

New ecu Software/
New chip upgrade /

New Headers /hi flow full sports Exhaust system.
ALL PRODUCED BY AUDI THAT COME WITH FULL AUDI WARRANTY!!!

and i fell to my knees when he said 500Hp isnt out of the question!!

THIS IS AWESOME NEWS FELLAS!!

I just dropped my RS4 for 15,000 mile service this morning and they informed me there was a recall on the RS4 to update the software on the ECU. The guy said it doesn't enhance performance but it helps make sure the ECU maintains good connections with the rest of the car's systems. Of course, who knows what the hell that really means.

Had anyone else heard about this?

Well when I was in Germany someone there told me about a 500 hp RS4, so this could be true :-)

Audi has offered exhausts in the past for several of their models. You can perhaps even still find them in the audi collection. But that has nothing to do with warranty. They have never made a claim that their performance products dont void the warranty. Additionally, the high flow cats made for Milltek are made by HJS which is probably the worlds leader in aftermarket cat production. The service writer or whoever was also wrong that they causes a blown motor. In fact they should reduce backpressure and cylinder temps. I'm not sure where he got that there will be a chip upgrade either. A chip upgrade would have such a minimal impact on performance for the highly tuned RS4 motor that I dont see how they would sell a single one. If they were going to come out with one any of their TDI or gas turbo motors would be the one as they can actually benefit.

Not to worry. It isnt the first time dealership folks have talked with their head up their a$$. It's amazing some of the things they come up with sometimes.
