Offset question...
I know there is more to it depending on the spoke design, but around what offset (front and rear) would be needed for a 19x9.5 wheel to work with the RS4?
TIA

to keep the distance from the inboard side of the wheel and the suspension upright same as OEM....
...a 9.5" wide wheel would have to be ET23 (front and rear). And with those dimensions, the outboard face of the wheel would be 12mm closer to the fender edge. So in terms of appearance, it would basically be very very close to an OEM wheel with a 10mm spacer, which several people here are running.
you can use <a href="http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html">this</a> tool to make calculations.

This assumes identical geometry to the stock wheel with regards to spokes and backspacing.....
Unfortunately, the offset number is not very useful (as FH had pointed out) without more info. You can actually go inwards an 1/8 of an inch also without a problem, and outwards only 3/8 of an inch if you wish to play it completely safe with the fenders. This would yield an offset of something like 25mm. For any given wheel, however, this is really all trial and error.

of course, he said he knew that...that's why I didn't mention it.
a cardboard template can be made to help determine whether caliper clearance will be an issue (stoptech.com has one).
