Is the oil specified for the RS4 the same 502 oil that's required in most new Audi's?.

Default Is the oil specified for the RS4 the same 502 oil that's required in most new Audi's?.

It's not like the M3 that needed a completely diffferent oil or even the RS6 that needed the 505.1 spec, I believe.

502 spec. Just the weight requirements may be different.

Default Requirements are exactly the same as all Audi engines. No difference for RS4

Having said that, I'd suggest Lubromoly Vollsynthese 5W40 as being the best 502 approved oil currently available. It can be found through on-line shops.

I seem to recall that my A3 can use 0W-40, 5W-40, and 5W-30.

Default Correct, as can all Audi's. All three are in the 502 approved list

But, 5W40 is predominant.

In the European list 5W30 is predominant.
