radio powers off when engine is turned off?
I just bought a 07 RS4 and when I turn off the engine the sond system powers off with it. I checked with local dealer and they found the same in a RS6 so it may be the way it's supposed to be. But according to the owner's manual the radio is supposed to stay on until the electrical system is turned off... I don't recall if my previous Audi's were the same but my other cars (Mercedes, Land Rover) continue to play music after the engine is turned off, and only when the electrical is switched off does the sound system stop... any thoughts?

now the million dollar question.
you hit the button and it comes on.
but how do you turn it off?
if I press the button it mutes it.
I even locked the car and the radio was still playing.

Might be a discrepancy between US and EMEA model but mine does not power of when I turn the engine of, it only powers off when I pull out the key from the ignition.
And as previous speaker, just hold the volyme buttom for a few seconds to turn off/turn on.

When you turn the radio back on with the key off, it will automatically shut off after a while (something like 30 minutes?) to preserve the battery power.

Radio On/Off
This was one of my questions to the local dealer as well. But as I learned (and as Jenner mentioned), pressing the power button only mutes the sound. Holding the power button down is how to turn it off. And probably as ELEVENS predict, it will shut off automatically after some time when the key is out. I just find it strange the other European cars let you listen to radio/music uninterrupted if you stop the engine, but Audi requires you to press a button...? If I arrive at my destination but wish to finish listening to a broadcast without missing anything, I'd have to keep the engine running. Not very green (but admittedly the RS4 isn't to begin with!) In any case thank you all for your inputs. Appreciate it.

yes I have retained power in my other 2 cars so I as well thought it was strange. Nope the RS4 is not very green. (but I do not think it was designed with that in mind)
