I had 2 different STIs and now drive an RS4 (with a CTS-V in between) and I have to say there is really no comparison. The RS4 handily beats the Subie in every single way. The STI is a nice car and I enjoyed it but the RS4 is in another league. While performance numbers might be similar on paper the RS4 to me is much better for driving fast in the real world. The STI is a more demanding car. My wife for example refused to drive it as it pulled her all over the road. She loves my RS4. I also feel like the RS4 handles quite a bit better. Then there is the sound of the 4.2 V8 v the STIs engine, again no contest.

Let us know what you decide but for ME there is no comparison.
